The Compliance Specialist I processes all contract modification letters and performs an audit of system generated contract modification letters to ensure all cure items are being identified. This incumbent is responsible for reviewing the Retail Installment Contract and/ or Lease Agreement to determine what action is needed to resolve the contract disclosure, fees and resolving outstanding audit exceptions. The Compliance Specialist has contact with other company departments, branches, customers and automobile dealerships.JOB DUTIESPrepare and review the contract disclosures to determine if a Cure Modification letter is necessary and meets state and federal requirements.Demonstrate and apply working knowledge of state and federal requirements as they relate to curing processes for Retail Installment Contract and / or Lease Agreements to ensure accuracy is performed prior to generating and mailing Cure Modification letter.Be proactive in problem solving and addressing and resolving contract documentation cure items (ie Dealer Compliance Manager/Team Lead of consistent trends or problems.)Ensure compliance audits maintain at least 95% success rate relating to contract modification letters.Review and provide resolution to audit exception to ensure it is within policy defined by management.Provide quality professional customer service to all internal and external customers when responding to inquiries via telephone, fax, or written request. Must be at work as scheduled.Must get along well with others.Assist and complete special projects as needed.Perform other related duties as needed.Assist and complete special projects as needed.Maintain current knowledge of state and federal requirements for area of responsibility. Responsible for application of company policies and state and federal requirements. Ability to relate to others and build positive relationships to accomplish team and company goals. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPReports to: Compliance Team Leader- Retail/ Lease - Funding AdministrationDirect Reports: None Knowledge:Able to perform all duties of the Compliance Specialist I. Working knowledge of motor vehicle retail installment contract and lease agreement documentation in a consumer finance or banking environment. Working knowledge of state and federal regulations and requirements as they relate to motor vehicle retail installment contract and lease agreement documentation. Skills:Strong organizational, follow up and data entry skills. Good verbal and written communication skills and excellent proofreading skills. Ability to operate various office equipment such as, but not limited to, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, etc. Experience:Experience in motor vehicle retail installment contract documentation in a consumer finance/banking environment. High school education or equivalent, some college preferred.WORKING CONDITIONSNormal office environment. Must be able to work in stressful situations related to daily deadlines and dealing with customers, branches and other company departments and outside vendors.Occasional overtime may be required to meet company needs.
