Job Description
Summary of Functions:
Maintenance Technician ensures proper functioning of facility and production equipment
with minimal downtime.
Essential Functions:
- Ensures that equipment is started up properly at the beginning of the shift and
maintains equipment in running order with minimal downtime
- Performs maintenance, repairs, updates and improvements on equipment as
requested by supervisor and managers
- Locates sources of problems by observing and listening to mechanical devices in
operation, diagnosing, and making repairs as required
- Performs minor adjustment(s) to equipment during runtime
- Maintains documentation of performance of preventive maintenance, equipment
repair, part usage and other documentation as required
- Serves as on-call technician for evenings and weekends, responding appropriately
to the request for service in support of operations
- Completes work orders as assigned or prioritized and update status in system
- Performs all other duties as assigned or needed
- Demonstrates an understanding of New Breed quality policy
- Adheres to the New Breed 7S program and maintains a clean environment at all
times
- Maintains a safe work environment by adhering to and enforcing safe work
practices and following safety practices
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and teamwork in meeting goals and objectives
- Commitment to process excellence by ensuring proper, efficient and accurate use of
the process
- Communicates well with leadership, Team members and other departments
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time in an office or warehouse environment
Ability to perform physical labor such as bending, lifting, stooping, climbing ladders,
etc.
- Must be able to work at heights
- Must be able to pass Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) test and demonstrate safe
operation of powered lift equipment
- Ability to lift 10 to 25 pounds and up to 50 on infrequent basis
- Must be able to work outdoors in hot or cold weather as needed
- Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools and material handling equipment,
such as drills, tape measures, levels, hammers, screwdrivers, hand dollies, pallet
jacks, etc.
- Effectively performs the position through effective communication and exchange of
information with all parties that you may come into to contact with while performing
the essential functions of the position

Requirements
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and specialized
vocational training
- Minimum of three years of related experience with at least three years of experience
with conveyor systems
- In-depth knowledge of electrical, pneumatics, and mechanical systems, including
drives, motors, bearings, conveyors and an understanding of air system operations
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and standby power units and their operation
- Working knowledge of A/C and D/C drivers, contactors, starters, overloads, and
breakers and ability to read and understand multi meters
- Ability to read simple electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings
- Ability to operate computer programs, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word;
prefer candidate with experience using Proteus or another similar work order system
- Ability to troubleshoot problems on a variety of equipment, including, but not limited
to, Basic PLC wiring and common Network RS232/Ethernet control systems/Cabling
- Proficient with multitude hand and power tools
- Demonstrate commitment to internal customer service
Ability to accurately read, write and communicate clearly and effectively
- Valid driver-s license
- Detail-oriented
- Must have initiative and ability to work independently or as a team member
- Ability to respond to emergency situations in a competent manner
- Spirit of continuous improvement, having the ability to suggest improvements and actively seeks opportunities for innovation
