Lead Optician

Assist patients with frame and lens selection
Frame displays and merchandising
Take care of repairs, adjustments, supplies, and handle walk:ins
Handle and keep track of returns, credits with lab and vendors
Board Management: Meet with vendors to purchase ophthalmic frames, sunglasses, and supplies. Maintain numbers and monitor Cost of Goods
Develop vendor relationship, co:operative marketing, and coordinate dispensary promotions and activities.
Pricing development and review
Keep track of eyewear jobs: time, length, and accuracy
Check:in jobs and notify patients
Maintain general appearance of dispensary and lab
Edge lenses as described by doctor: training will be provided if needed
Inventory management
Secondary Responsibilities
Pretesting of Patients
Take retinal photos
Administer visual field tests
Teach I and R for new contact lens patients
Answer phones
Other administrative duties
:Prior Optical experience needed with a minimum 5 years of experience.
:Strong work history with a single employer. Maintaining employment in an optical/optometrist office for a minimum of 2 years.
:Must be available to work on Saturday's.
:Willingness to improve and train in other departments
:ABO Certification is a plus but not necessary with strong optical experience
:Strong computer knowledge/experience required. Officemate experience is a plus
