Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry:leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings : carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical:based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical:based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
:Leadership of resin:related projects across all Optical Connectivity Solutions location and departments
:Support of resin product development
:Development of thermoplastic compounds
:Application Engineering in resin introduction phases
:Evaluation and analysis from Lab results
:Observation of material technical developments and trends in thermoplastic market
:Organization and execution of new material introductions
:Assistance and registration of new materials into the register of hazardous substances
:Technical contact for material suppliers
:Interface between Supply Chain and Development department
:Introduction of recycled materials into the production process
:Project lead and establishment of a Resin Board across all related Corning Optical Communication Departments
:Bachelor's Degree in Plastic Engineering with a focus on Resins
:Master's Degree in Plastic Engineering preferred
:Essential knowledge of high:performing thermoplastic resin formulations
:Basic knowledge of coloring and recycling
:Fundamental knowledge of test possibilities from plastic materials
:Experience in creating new polymers and related injection molding processes
:Project management skills
:Experience working with international teams
:Experience with MS Office Suite
:Experience with SAP preferred
