You can also call or text 214-736-4790 for more information The basic scope of work for the cable tech position includes: Pulling and routing CAT5 or CAT 6 cable in a new construction commercial environment Terminating phone jacks Dressing and terminating distribution frames (66 or 110 blocks, patch panels) Testing cable/troubleshooting networking issues Installing support structures (ladders, racks, j-hooks) Experience working with MDF/IDF closets including building of racks and installation/wiring of patch panels Candidates that can work independently and within a team environment. Understanding of how all systems integrate in a commercial environment Requirements: At least 1 year of experience installing voice and data systems in a commercial environment Ownership of basic telecom tools: Punch down, snips, wire strippers, cordless drill, Hard Hat, Boots, Safety Glasses, etc. Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA or NEC Standards.
